Travelogue: Artists on the Road
Brian Murphy, Bridge to Valentia

The people, places, flora and fauna of destinations around the country and throughout the world, as recorded by nine artists in watercolor, oil and photography, are highlighted in this exhibition.

From Maine to Florida and from Ireland to Italy, the artists present these locations and more as seen through their eyes. “Travelogue gives visitors an introduction to a few travels that fire the artists’ imaginations. Some places draw artists for their physical beauty – in the landscape and the quality of light – like Maine and Tuscany. Other artists seek inspiration from the passion of a place – such as Venice or Greece – or locales that have a place in their hearts, like a return to a hometown.” says Pfac Program Director & Curator Michael Preble.

Featured artists include: Juli Schuszler, Gloucester, VA; RJ Clark, Virginia Beach, VA; Jim Dees, Hampton, VA; Rita Henry, Little Rock, AR; Jeannette Kaulfers, Midlothian, VA; Glen McClure, Norfolk, VA; Brian Murphy, Newport News, VA; Helen Singleton, Norfolk, VA and Thomas Xenakis, Falls Church, VA.

Travelogue is sponsored in part by the Newport News Arts Commission.
