View "Masterworks of American Impressionism," featuring works by Mary Cassatt, John Singer Sargent, Childe Hassam and other famous artists of the era.The show is complemented by a local collection of works from the Boston School, an artists' group working, showing and critiquing each other during the early 20th century.

Preschoolers will use erasers dipped in paint to create "dot" paintings like the Impressionists. Free with the price of admission for adults; children under 5 have free admission.
- Art Start: Pot of Gold Hanging Decor
March 12 • 10:30 a.m.
Preschoolers will create hanging St. Patrick's Day mobiles featuring a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Free with the price of admission for adults; children under 5 have free admission.
- Poetry Night
March 13 • 6 p.m.
Maryland poet Randolph Bridgeman will present his poetry, including works from his October 2013 collection, "The Odd Testament," followed by an open mic for local poets. Free admission.
- Art Start: Painting with Marbles

Enjoy an art project that's as fun as it is creative! Marbles dipped in paint will create abstract artworks as they roll around in boxes. Free with the price of admission for adults; children under 5 have free admission.
- Art After 5: Otis Brooks + Community Art Night

Our third Thursday event features music by Otis Brooks, along with a celebration of National Crafting Month! Join us for artist demonstrations and hands-on opportunities, plus an interactive public art piece by ArtCNU students. Free admission!

Newport News Public Schools students will share their poems at this event, featuring a reading from special guest Nathan Richardson and an awards ceremony. This cooperative program between PFAC and NNPS is funded by the Newport News Arts Commission and the Peninsula Community Foundation. Free and Open to the public. Read student poems here.
