A Carnival of Animals: Beasts, Birds and Bugs in Original Illustrations from Children
This exhibition includes renderings by well-known American and international artists of over 60 kinds of animals from all seven continents. Works were chosen to show artist's approaches to perspective, the wide range of media employed, and the process by which art is transformed to the printed page. Rare examples of early book illustrations place this artistic genre within a historical framework.
Presented in cooperation with the Newport News Public Library System and is circulated through the Meridian International Center.
