The highly-anticipated Pfac Biennial selects the best work in all media from thousands of entries submitted from across North America. To experience Biennial 2006 will be to feel the pulse of the current state of the arts. There will be surprises, and something sure to delight everyone.
"The Biennial is one of Pfac's most exciting exhibitions, in part because you never quite know what to expect. This year's juror, Tony Hepburn, adds an interesting dimension to the process as a practicing artist in several different media, an experienced teacher and a published writer. Since the exhibit happens only every two years, the work tends to be fresh and provides an intriguing barometer of current work. It is in a way the perfect show -- full of surprise, excitement, drama and fun -- and something a lot more interesting to gossip about," notes Pfac Program Director Michael Preble.
An internationally-known artist and head of the ceramics department at the renowned Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI, Hepburn is an accomplished ceramicist and sculptor who has also built a reputation for his remarkable drawings.
Biennial 2006 is sponsored in part by the Pfac Business/Arts Alliance.
